A candidate with inspirational leadership skills is wanted to oversee delivery of the £1.3 billion Swansea Bay City Deal.

An unprecedented programme of investment in South West Wales, the City Deal is worth £1.8 billion and more than 9,000 high-quality jobs to the Swansea Bay City Region’s economy in coming years.

An ambitious, motivated, senior professional is wanted to set up and lead a new City Deal Programme Management Office in Llanelli that will co-ordinate a portfolio of major projects throughout Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire and Swansea.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in an investment programme that will improve people’s lives by leaving a long-term legacy for residents and businesses in all the region’s communities.

We want an experienced, motivated strategic thinker with a proven track record for outstanding leadership, complex project delivery and collaborative working with multiple partners across the public and private sectors.

Extensive stakeholder engagement will also be an important function for the City Deal’s Programme Director, so first class communication skills, resilience and innovation will be just as key.

The total annual salary is £88,478 to £94,373 - plus potential for a market supplement based on skills and experience.

A basic knowledge of Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
