Flying Start Social Worker
(Temporary up to 31/03/2021 due to Grant Funding)

£31,371 - £34,788 (Grade I)


We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join a well-established multi – agency Flying Start programme. Flying start is a Welsh Government grant funded programme with an annual revenue grant. The programme is geographically spread across 18 communities within Carmarthenshire. The post is based in the Carmarthen Flying Start office and covers the Carmarthen and Ammanford areas of the County. We have a committed and stable workforce, so this is a rare and excellent opportunity to join a successful and progressive programme. As part of our innovative approach to practice the team takes a systemic approach as well as using Signs of Safety. The ability to travel within the county is essential.

A social work qualification is required for this post.

A basic knowledge of Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this post.

As part of the Council’s Policy and Procedure it is now a requirement that employees must register with the DBS Update Service for which there is an annual subscription fee of £13 borne by the individual.  The Authority will pay for the initial DBS check.
