Environmental Health Practitioner
(Temporary Secondment Cover initially up to 31st March 2021)

£31,371 - £34,788 (Grade I)

We want the right people to join our Environmental Protection Section to undertake a wide range of Environmental Health duties. Carmarthenshire has a large and diverse number of food and other businesses in the county resulting in a very wide range of challenges.

A number of Environmental Health Practitioner posts have arisen as a result of the demands of COVID-19. Depending on funding, these posts are initially until the 31st March 2021.

Sitting in the Food, Safety and Health Team, you will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and diligent. The team covers Food Hygiene and Standards, Infectious Disease Control, Health and Safety, Public Health registration (tattooing etc) and Animal Feed. Work will include inspections, dealing with complaints, sampling, projects and promotion as well as appropriate enforcement.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be a great team player.

The post will be 37 hours per week and may include evening and weekend work depending on the needs of the job.

Applicants will have a Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent as well as a Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB).
