We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated teaching assistant, to work within the Centre’s Primary Department. The Centre accommodates students who have complex needs including Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, therefore the school are looking for a strong candidate who is creative, proactive and flexible in there supporting style.

The appointed teaching assistant will be based at Canolfan Bro Tywi and provide outreach support across schools in Carmarthenshire. They will have responsibility for modifying pupil’s behaviour both on a 1-1 basis and within small groups linking with members of the Behaviour Support Community Team.

The ideal candidate should have experience of working within a similar environment and be comfortable in managing challenging behaviour. They must also be highly motivated, dynamic, have strong teamwork skills and a ‘can do’ approach to their work. They will be a strong communicator who is a nurturing, patient and positive individual and will be strong at building relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

A very strong commitment to raising aspiration and attainment in an SEN setting is essential.

This post is a grant funded post and is a fixed term contract until 31/03/2021 in the first instance

Conversational Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
