Countryside Access Officer

£32,234 - £35,745 (Grade I)

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Countryside Access team in a role that contributes to the management of the Carmarthenshire’s Public Rights of Way network.

The Countryside Access team is a front-line service, responsible for keeping over 2400km of public right of way in the County open and accessible for the public to enjoy. As well as dealing with the public, the role also involves working with private landowners and a variety of stakeholders such as the Local Access Forum, Natural Resources Wales, the Ramblers Association and the British Horse Society.

The successful applicant will join a small team and will assist in maintaining the Definitive Map and Statement for Carmarthenshire, completing Public Path Orders and carrying out enforcement where necessary to keep the network open.

The role is office based but requires some outdoor working and will involve occasional lone working.

Conversational Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
