This post forms part-delivery of the Cynnydd Project part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) through the Welsh Government.
Cynnydd is an operation under Specific Objective 2 of the 2014-2020 West Wales and the Valleys ESF Operational Programme. The aim of the operation is to reduce the number of 11-24 year olds at risk of becoming not in education, training and employment (NEET). Cynnydd will target young people most at risk of disengaging from education and by association, at highest risk of becoming NEET. Cynnydd will systematically identify, track the progress of these young people, providing a range of interventions which will compliment and add value to existing services.
The post-holder will work with young people aged 16-24 with a disability or work limiting condition identified as being at risk of becoming NEET to improve their engagement in education and training.
The post-holder will be expected to work autonomously within the role and demonstrate a high level of professionalism and effective practice in complex situations, assessing and managing levels of risk in case work, striking balance between support and above all enhancing empowerment and promoting individual’s independence.
Liaising with a wide range of professionals, in-house services and community provision, the post holder will manage a variety cases, providing a mixture of 1-1 and group support and running engagement sessions.
To support young people who have a disability or work limiting condition who are at risk of becoming NEET to promote engagement, inclusion, training and employment opportunities.
A basic knowledge of Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
