Residential Child Care Officer
30 hours per week
£22,183* - £25,991* (Grade F) *Pro-rata (weekend enhancement may be applicable)
Llys Caradog Children’s Centre currently supports children and their families providing short breaks at one of two specialised centres within Carmarthenshire. Llys Caradog is seeking to employ one Permanent Residential Child Care Officer. Candidates should have a genuine interest in working with children/young people, with a learning disability, in a residential setting and be prepared to work across centres. The post covers early mornings, evenings and weekends as well as sleep in duties, as part of a rolling rota. Officer candidates will be expected to take the lead on shift and should be prepared to work with challenging behaviour. Joining an established supportive team you will also have the opportunity for on going personal development through comprehensive training.
N.B. In line with CSSIW legislation it is a requirement that the post holder is at least 22 years of age.
A basic knowledge of Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this post.
As part of the Council’s Policy and Procedure it is now a requirement that employees must register with the DBS Update Service for which there is an annual subscription fee of £13 borne by the individual. The Authority will pay for the initial DBS check.
