Casual Flying Start Childcare Workers  
Sessional hours subject to work demands

£19,312* (Grade D) *Pro-rata to hours worked (Fixed Point)


We are seeking to recruit casual childcare workers for the Flying Start Early Years Team.  Casual Childcare Workers will be required to support the delivery of the childcare sessions as and when required for the purpose of covering leave for permanent post holders and other services within the children’s centre. Hours will be different every week.

We do currently have opportunities for casual childcare staff to support the delivery of mobile crèche within the three children centres on a weekly basis.  

Flying Start provides quality part time childcare.  With the aim to improve future learning outcomes through quality play-based activities in partnership with parents.

Applicants will need a minimum of level 3 childcare qualification and enjoy working in a busy child centred environment.

The post will involve working on a casual basis between the hours of 08:45am and 4pm

The ability to communicate effectively in Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this post.

As part of the Council’s Policy and Procedure it is now a requirement that employees must register with the DBS Update Service for which there is an annual subscription fee of £13 borne by the individual.  The Authority will pay for the initial DBS check.
