Social Worker – Children with Disabilities

£32,234 - £35,745 (Grade I)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our integrated Children’s Disability team based in Carmarthen and covering the whole of the county. 

You will work alongside health and education professionals to provide a comprehensive service to disabled children and their families. 

The role will require you to undertake assessment, care planning and direct interventions with families. The social work role within the team focusses on cases where there maybe safeguarding concerns.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role and we welcome applications from social workers who have experience working with disability or in child protection. 

You will be a children’s social worker, working within a 0-25 team. This presents a unique opportunity to gain experience in a range of statutory work across children and adults social care.

A basic knowledge of Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this post.

As part of the Council’s Policy and Procedure it is now a requirement that employees must register with the DBS Update Service for which there is an annual subscription fee of £13 borne by the individual.  The Authority will pay for the initial DBS check.
