Description

The Outdoor Recreation Service require a Green Infrastructure and Conservation Co-ordinator. 

The post is fixed term, for 30 hours per week, until 31/03/2023

The postholder will be responsible for the delivery of Outdoor Recreations’ element of the Connecting Green Infrastructure project within Carmarthenshire which includes the management and development of Green Infrastructure sites and grant compliance (including monitoring and evaluation). 
This will include management of the day-to-day conservation activities on Local Nature Reserves and conservation sites, liaising with contractors and other groups to provide help and advice including compliance with conservation legislation. 
Carmarthenshire County Council is part of a new Green Infrastructure Partnership which has accessed grant funding under the Rural Development Programme for the regional Connecting Green Infrastructure project. The partnership includes Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (Lead Partner), Swansea Council, Cwmaman Town Council and Coed Lleol (Smallwoods Association). 
The appointed the individual will need to be an excellent team player, have the ability to work alone or as part of the wider team, with accuracy, possess excellent interpersonal, communication and reporting skills. In addition, the postholder will require knowledge of current conservation legislation (environmental impact studies & surveys, best practice advice and European Protected Species) as well as thorough knowledge of procedural and legal issues relating to LNRs, SSSIs and SACs. 
The role could require occasional evening and weekend work as the service requires. Candidates must also have the ability to travel to site and to attend meetings as necessary. 

Conversational Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
