An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and proactive individual to take on an important role within Planning Services. 

The successful applicant will, as part of the Forward Planning Team, provide specialist support in preparing the replacement Local Development Plan for Carmarthenshire and contribute to developing our vision in relation to Placemaking and Green and Blue Infrastructure. 
The Local Development Plan (LDP) is a key strategic document that defines the future of development, growth, the use of all land, guides investments within Carmarthenshire for the next 15 years, and will be essential in delivering regional plans and objectives. Not only an essential part of delivering on the need for new homes and jobs, the LDP also has a key part to play in ensuring our rich and diverse environment, and the social well-being of our communities is enhanced in accordance with legislation. The preparation of the Sustainability Appraisal/Strategic Environmental Assessment and Habitat Regulations Assessment is an integral part of an iterative LDP preparatory process with the post holder playing a key role in their preparation. Through this process, the post holder will play an important part in planning for a prosperous future for the County’s communities. 

The successful applicant will make an important contribution to the work of the Planning Service and to meeting our statutory requirements in an efficient, effective, and timely manner. 

A basic knowledge of Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
