An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, committed person to work in a busy and technical area of activity, which involves considerable customer contact, and where teamwork is vital.
The Council Tax Section is a front line service, responsible for administering the Authority’s 88,000 Council Tax accounts. The successful applicant will be part of a team that determines, and actions, amendments to council tax liability arising from changes in property occupation and ownership as well as entitlement to the wide range of statutory discounts and exemptions provided for in Council Tax law. Duties will also include dealing with enquiries in relation to liability and recovery action in respect of unpaid accounts.
Experience of local taxation work, preferably in a customer service environment, will be a distinct advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
Conversational Welsh is required to accomplish this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
